For the Lange Nacht der Forschung each federal state held a presentation in Vienna. Shape Lab from our partners at TU Graz was there representing Styria.
Shape Lab from our partners at TU Graz took part in the Lange Nacht der Forschung showcasing their projects.
Our project partners at TU Graz, in collaboration with ARGOS, have developed a large-format 3D printer for earth-based building materials. They demonstrated large-scale, sustainable 3D printing and experimental design in teaching and artistic production. The team contributed a "Knot Production" to Milica Tomić’s exhibition at Kunsthaus Graz, handling both the design and ceramic 3D printing processes. Additionally, results from their recent course “Architektur Geometrie” (2025) were exhibited at Ball der Technik in Graz.

Helmut Pottmann – Higher Geometries for Computational Design
Our colleagues presented recent results in a VR and ML enhanced experience at DesignDistrict in collaboration with Christian Kroepfl. (04.-06.10.2024 design-district.at)
Our colleagues presented recent results from the SFB advanced computational design, as well as from the research project “Visualizing an Ancient Egyptian Queen” at this year's "Lange Nacht der Forschung" (long night of research) - Austria's largest public outreach event for science, research, and innovation.
Our colleagues Martin Kilian (TU Wien), Anthony S Ramos Cisneros (KAUST), Christian Müller (TU Wien), and Helmut Pottmann (KAUST) have won the Best Paper award at SIGGRAPH Asia 2023 for their paper "Meshes with Spherical Faces".
